Pre-School & Primary:
The first step for the young dancer in learning movement. Class
consists of tap and pre-ballet combined with age appropriate motor
skill games. Tech I - Continuation of Creative Dance in a more structured class. Introduction of ballet terminology, barre, and center work. Tap and Jazz concentrate on age appropriate skills and technique. Tech II & III- Increased barre work and center work. Exploration of floor patterns and musicality. Tap and Jazz concentrate on age appropriate skills and technique. Tech IVA - An intensive dance training program prepatory to pointe work. Ballet attendance required twice weekly. Tap and Jazz concentrate on age appropriate skills and technique. Tech IVB - An intensive dance training program including point work. Tap and Jazz concentrate on age appropriate skills and technique. Eligible for audition for apprenticeship to the Company. Tech V - Eligible to audition for Company. This comprehensive dance training program includes ballet technique & Pointe. Tap and Jazz concentrate on age appropriate skills and technique. Tech VI - Eligible to audition for Company. This comprehensive training and performing program is for the pre-professional advanced dancer. Includes four ballet technique classes, pointe, variations, pas de deux, and conditioning. Tap and Jazz concentrate on age appropriate skills and technique.
Dress Code:
Tech IV, V & VI -Pink ballet slippers, pink pointe shoes, pink tights, black leotard (hair must be worn in a bun with a hair net) Pre-School/Primary - Pink tights, pink leotard - hair must be pulled back from face Tech I - pink tights, light blue leotard - hair must be worn in a bun for ballet Tech II - pink tights, maroon leotard - hair must be worn in a a bun for ballet Tech III - pink tights, navy blue leotard - hair must be worn in a bun for ballet Boys: White ballet shoes, white socks, plain white t-shirt, black tights Men: White or black ballet shoes, solid color dance clothing Jazz & Tap - same tights and leotard for your ballet class with hair pulled back from face Students should attend all classes and rehearsals dressed according to dress code, this will be strictly enforced. Clothes should be clean, neat and in good condition Please put names in all dance shoes!
Class levels differ from school to
school. New England Ballet School reserves the right to
determine the proper class level for all entering students,
regardless of prior training.
Determination of eligibility for admission in the school's upper division's Technique IV, V, and VI Programs is based upon the applicant's physical qualifications, flexibility, coordination, musicality and motivation. An audition/placment class will be held each August for programs and Company. To maintain the high quality of instruction that is possible only in small classes, New England Ballet School may be forced to limit enrollment. If enrollment in any class is insufficient, New England Ballet School reserves the right to reschedule the class, or to cancel the class and refund deposit and tuition fees already paid. Classes will begin promptly at scheduled times. Students who are not properly attired according to the dress code or are tardy more than five minutes will not be admitted into class. Every student at New England Ballet school is expected to conform to its rules and regulations, and to behave in a responsible and courteous manner. Emphasis is at all times placed on discipline and professionalism. New England Ballet School reserves the right to dismiss any student whose attitude or conduct is found unsatisfactory. |
