Driving:
The directions provided by
Mapquest (http://www.mapquest.com) are known to be reliable for providing
the easiest routes into Ithaca. Once you get to Ithaca, finding the studio is
quite easy. We are located at 108 W. State Street, 2nd Floor. The
studio is directly across from one of Ithaca’s most prominent landmarks, the
historic State Theater.
Bus:
The Short Line runs ten
comfortable buses per day from the Port Authority Bus Terminal (Manhattan) to
downtown Ithaca at around $35 one way. Check
http://www.shortlinebus.com/college/2ithaca_from_nyc.htm
for the Short Line schedule. Coming from other directions, it may be best to
leave the driving to Greyhound (http://www.greyhound.com)
Plane:
Ithaca proudly hosts Tompkins
County Airport (http://www.ithaca-airport.com/), serviced by US Airways.
Syracuse is the more affordable choice, although 57 miles away. If you book
well in advance, you can fly JetBlue from JFK for not much more than taking the
bus. Once you get to Syracuse, you're best renting a car because it won't be
much more than the Syracuse airport limo to Ithaca. The limo service is Syracuse
Airport Limousine (http://cuinfo.cornell.edu/Ithaca/Travel.html)
(1-800-273-9197). It costs $40 one way and $60 r/t.
Rail:
There is no passenger rail
service into Ithaca. The old railway station now serves as the bus terminal.
Food
and Lodging:
The New England Ballet of Ithaca
is located adjacent to the Ithaca Commons. The Commons is the pedestrian zone
in the center of town which has lots of cafes, bookstores, shops and restaurants
to explore. No visit to Ithaca is complete without going there. There is even
an organic supermarket, Greenstar’s Oasis, around the corner in the DeWitt Mall.

If you are in the mood for
something special, then William Henry Miller Inn will be a fun place to stay.
Apart from being perfectly located, it is a beautiful old building; it offers a
really good breakfast by the fireplace, and the owner is an excellent baker and
offers a choice of great desserts at night.
